Lakshmi trained as an architect in India and has an MA in Urban Design from the University of Westminster. She has been with the consultancy since 2002 and has worked on a number of prominent projects throughout London.
As a senior consultant, she has over 20 years of experience advising on development projects that affect the townscape and historic environment. Her expertise includes advising on the listability of historic buildings, Certificates of Immunity, advice on alterations to listed buildings and Listed Building Consent applications, liaising with stakeholders, and providing design advice and townscape analysis for development projects within sensitive historic contexts. She has assisted in the preparation of evidence for a number of planning inquiries and has extensive experience in the preparation of Townscape, Heritage and Visual Impact Assessments for Environmental Statements. Recent projects that she has advised on include a sensitive infill scheme on East Oxford Street by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris; a rooftop extension to Richard Seifert’s Park Tower Knightsbridge Hotel by Darling Associates; a redevelopment scheme for the Grade II listed Greenwich Magistrate’s Court site by Squire and Partners; a large-scale housing regeneration scheme in Westminster by AStudio architects; and tall building schemes in the City by KPF and Fletcher Priest Architects.
Lakshmi also contributes to the running of the practice as part of the management team.
