Mariana trained as an architect in Mexico and holds an MA in Architecture and Urbanism from the Manchester School of Architecture. For her postgraduate dissertation she focused on the self-production of public space in marginalised neighbourhoods in Leon, Mexico. Previously, she had worked designing public spaces and recreational areas, mainly parks and playgrounds. Within her architectural background, Mariana is interested in social and affordable housing, as well as design methodologies of the likes of self-production and participatory design. Since joining Citydesigner, Mariana has been undertaking research and producing graphic material for Heritage, Townscape, Visual Impact and Architectural assessments, as well as assisting senior consultants on larger schemes.
